Student Council

Fifth through Eighth grade students are encouraged to run for Student Council. The elections are held in September.

Student Council Constitution Preamble:

We, the students of Oroville Christian Schools, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the Student Body Government with the campus in order

  1. To fairly represent student interests, needs and welfare within the Student Body community;
  2. To coordinate, regulate, and execute student activities;
  3. To promote general educational welfare;
  4. To foster a spirit of cooperation among students, faculty and administration through open communication.

"The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them."

"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

Science Fair

Each year students participate in the science fair. Using the Scientific Method, the objective is to evaluate scientific theory in light of scripture.

Historical Sites Tour

The Historical Sites Tour is another highlight at OCS. Every other spring our eighth grade students, their parents, and school staff travel to the East Coast to learn about the Christian influence in the foundation of our country. This unforgettable tour teaches our children the truth about our godly heritage and prepares them to be good Christian citizens who will defend what God has given us.

Students will see the marks of Providence everywhere, even etched in marble on the sacred memorials and on the walls of the Supreme Court. HST groups (8th grade students and their parents) meet each month to discuss various items such as fundraisers and insights on future trips. When students are doing fundraising in the community for HST, they are to remember they are representing the school; school dress and make-up rules apply to these occasions.
