Our teachers provide a quality, Scripture-affirming education.
Your child will find friendship and support in a family atmosphere.
At first glance, you might say “All the preschoolers do is play!” And you couldn’t be more right!
We are learning through educational play. There is a reason and a plan for every play activity we do. We color to get ready to write. We paint to learn self-expression and build up the muscles in our hands and arms so we can write. We explore at our Science Tables to learn about the world around us. We love to play with play dough. It helps our fine motor skills and social skills.
As we build with Legos and blocks, we are learning shapes, lines and angles which will lead us to geometry. We count everything which teaches us math. We ride scooters and tricycles that help develop our gross motor skills because we will want to play baseball, soccer and basketball someday.
Planting our garden, caring for the plants in our room, examining seashells, observing the fish in our aquarium and hatching butterflies begins our love of natural science. Digging with a friend in the sandbox helps with our social skills. We do puzzles every day because they help with critical thinking and even help us learn to read. We have to look for the shape and color of each piece.
We also learn to work together because no one is happy with the person who hides the last piece of the puzzle! We listen to stories several times each day. This helps us learn to sit still (which can be a very important skill) and it helps us learn to read.
We develop a love and respect for books which will follow us through our whole lives. Books open up great new worlds for us. Our Bible stories teach us about the love God has for us and leads us to begin a relationship with him. We are learning great things through educational play at Oroville Christian Preschool!
The Caterpillar class at Oroville Christian Preschool is for children who will be 3 years old before September 1 and are toilet trained. Our program focuses on providing children with a positive play experience where they can learn how to make friends and play with others.
In addition to opportunities for socialization, the Caterpillar class includes activities such as Bible stories, arts and crafts, music, movement, literature, and outdoor play. Our goal is to create a fun and engaging environment where children can learn and grow.
